Dual Diagnosis: Challenges and Opportunities

Those who struggle with co-occurring disorders face a unique set of issues which need to be taken into account to provide adequate care. It is now generally agreed that as much as 50 percent of clients who meet criteria for one diagnosis, meet criteria for an additional diagnosis. This training explores how to prepare service providers to work with clients with Co-Occurring Disorders. Participants will leave with effective techniques & resources to benefit their clients.

This workshop explains how understanding the teenage brain can help adults understand the behaviors and abilities of this age group and work together successfully.

An essential part of a client’s success, and lasting change, is having the family involved, but it is often difficult. This training focuses on techniques to engage the family, based on the philosophy and techniques of Motivational Interviewing. This training also gives an overview of family groups and how you can use them in treatment.

This training discusses the philosophy and techniques of Motivational Interviewing. Participants will gain competency in these effective methods and be able to implement specific techniques the next day with their clientele.

Most clients’ experience with treatment is that it is disproportionately focused on their “problems”. Strength- builds on the philosophy and techniques of Motivational Interviewing.
